Deleting your browser’s history makes your browser run faster and more efficiently. Deleting your browser’s history also erases the records of all the web pages you have visited.
The history of your browser is comprised of the “Temporary Internet Files”, “Cookies”, “History”, “Form Data”, “Passwords”, and “Cache”. Here are the ways on how to delete the history of your browser in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome:
For Internet Explorer:
- Click on “Tools” at the top of the browser window.
- Select “Delete Browsing History…”
- When a window pops up, you will have six options to choose from: Delete files, Delete cookies, Delete history, Delete forms, Delete passwords, and Delete all.
- You can choose which option you prefer, but if you want no trace of your browsing history at all, select “Delete All”.

- You can select your preferred option from “Time range to clear”. Then you tick or un-tick the boxes of the options you want to delete. But, if you do not want any of your browsing history to be traced, select “Everything” from the “Time range to clear” and select all the options and then click “Clear Now”.

Deleting your browser’s history is most useful if you are on a shared computer. This also helps when you don’t want the computer’s next user to know the web pages you’ve visited. For example, if you and your partner are using a shared computer, and you want to surprise your partner by buying a gift online, you can delete your browser’s history so that they won’t discover that you have accessed the specific website and they won’t find out what you have been doing online. No matter what kind of browser you use, it’s so simple to delete the history if you just follow these steps.
